Aha! I just emailed this to you, before I checked your blog for the morning.

It is amazing--I can't believe that someone actually has the guts to say the things he does in this thing. I was kind of worried when I heard he was doing this, that he might soften his edge a bit. Instead, this is even better than I could have imagined, that he made these jokes with the President right there...

I hope he doesn't mind his phone being tapped for the rest of his life...

I just found these clips: http://video.freevideoblog.com/video/AAC7FA18-2DDC-4D3E-B1BB-9D6CBD83E27F.htm and http://video.freevideoblog.com/video/AAC7FA18-2DDC-4D3E-B1BB-9D6CBD83E27F.htm (part two) which seem to include more content and better quality. Watching this, his speech really seems like the sort of thing that we'll look at in 50 years when people discuss the disaster of the Bush White House. Genius.

OMG - Freaking hilarious, I wonder if someone got canned for this, maybe some intern who didn't actually screen Colbert's notes? I am so shocked they didn't pull the plug on him. Thank you freedom of speech, thank you! I love how no one laughs at his first joke. The Cheney jab is priceless!
