Does the S in NSA stand for Samuel L. Jackson?

I don't know why I answered the phone when caller id said it was some company I'd never heard of. And I don't know why I didn't hang up when I heard it was a recorded message. Maybe because I like Samuel L. Jackson. Which charity, I wondered, got him on board? No charity: Snakes on a Plane... He's calling me telling me to go see it. Weird enough, but things got even freakier when he said, "So stop playing with your beard" (how does he know I have a beard?!) "and stop listening to that crazy music" (how does he know I listen to "crazy music") "and take your wife Carolyn to come see 'Snakes on a Plane." Man!
Crazy. So smooth, no interuptions, IN HIS VOICE. Made my morning, best bit of guerilla advertising since KFC and that S&M chicken... Whoever set it up, thanks. (Now, who set it up?)

flashback

Today I got this wonderfully mysterious comment from anonymous:

"This is great... I was sitting at my pc waiting for some illegal downloads to finish, and rolling a smoke. I was also pickin' my nose for a minute, and I dropped a booger very close to my tobacco pile. The thought of smokin' a booger made me laugh, and I googled it and ended up here!! Lol...
Well, I'm done pickin' and googlin'...Later!"

I was really confused (offended?) until I realized it was referring to
this long-forgotten post from last October.

Very Strange

So this is weird. I was just sitting here revising this short poem:

How they sorted into piles
the bodies the riots left,
Hindus a tattoo of
an Om, Muslims the lucky
number 786.

"America a big town.
Rickshaw not possible."

...when I decided to do an internet search on the significance of "786." You can imagine my surprise to read that 786 is indeed a holy and lucky number to lots of Muslims, and that IT IS TOMORROW! August 7, 2006 (when written as most of the world writes dates) is a big day. Like 6/6/6 was to you King Diamond fans. I'm not much on "significant" dates (though I'll be holding my breath through 2012), but it did give me a synchronistic chill. I mean, I've had this poem sitting around for months... Why did I decide to research it tonight? Lots of people who were fanatical enough to riot to the death (the poem refers to the 2002 riots in Ayodhya, India) got this number tattooed on their bodies; let's hope no one with the same mindset decides tomorrow's the day for "something big."
